Group Experiences
Group work has been part of my practice for years — daylong unfoldment labs, multi-day retreats, mindfulness courses, custom workshops for teams and communities, and co-facilitated gatherings.
What I bring to a group is what I bring to one-on-one work: depth contemplative practice, somatic attunement, careful holding of the field, and a trust that what wants to emerge in a group is more intelligent than what any single facilitator can plan. The container itself does much of the work; my role is to create the conditions for that container and stay responsive to what's surfacing and deepening in the field.
Sessions often weave together teaching, guided practice, small-group or dyadic relational practice, music, and integration — engaging head, heart, and body for individual and collective unfolding.
How We Might Work Together
For committed practitioners
Daylong labs and multi-day retreats focused on depth practice in community. Themes include the integration of contemplative practice with embodied living, working with parts in the field of presence, the cultivation of essential qualities, and the navigation of advanced developmental thresholds. Best suited to those with existing meditation or contemplative practice.
For teams, organizations, and communities
Custom group unfoldment containers for teams pioneering deliberately developmental ways of working — distributed teams, mission-driven companies, leadership groups, and contemplative communities exploring what becomes possible when personal and collective growth are woven into operational rhythm.
The work draws on contemplative practice, parts work in the group field, systems awareness, and attention to the natural stages of group development — including elements from Aletheia's Group Unfoldment methodology, which I'm actively integrating into my facilitation practice.
I work best with teams willing to be in co-creation with the methodology — open to inquiry alongside outcomes, and able to commit to the developmental arc rather than expecting transformation in a single retreat. Engagements are typically multi-month containers, supporting the group toward deeper collective coherence, capacity to navigate conflict as a resource, and self-facilitating capacity over time.
Co-facilitated retreats
Collaborations with other teachers and facilitators, often weaving meditation, relational practice, somatic work, creative practice, and music. Announced as they emerge.
Themes I tend to work with
Coming alive to our innate wholeness, creativity, and aliveness
Befriending the inner critic and releasing the trance of unworthiness
The relational field as the medium of healing and realization
Trust, resourcing, and resilience in this time between worlds
The integration of personal unfoldment and planetary unfoldment
Working with thresholds — releasing what was, opening to what's emerging
Contemplative practice as practical life, not separate from it
"I feel calmer, more grounded, and more JOY after doing this retreat. I accessed the strong, wise, and centered part of myself that serves me in my life more than the stress and anxiety voices. I also made some new friends and had a lot of fun. I just love Sarah-Marie's facilitation style. She is patient and supportive, and she leaves a lot of space for answers… I'm just very impressed overall - and I facilitate a lot of groups, so I know quality when I see it. Highly recommended - especially for perfectionists and other high-achievers who are growth-minded."
